Privacy Policy
Last updated: 8 June 2026
MoodMark is a personal mood and breathwork journal. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and how you can have it deleted.
What we collect
- Account information — your name and email address, via Google sign-in through Clerk.
- Mood entries — the score (1–5) and optional note you log each day, along with the time it was recorded.
- Breathwork session journal entries — duration, tags (e.g. Calm, Anxiety), and optional notes you write after a session.
- Reminder settings — the times and timezone you configure for push notification reminders.
- Push notification subscription — a browser-generated endpoint and keys used to deliver reminders. No message content is stored.
- Whoop data (if you connect Whoop) — recovery score, HRV, sleep performance, strain, and journal behaviors from your Whoop account, accessed via the Whoop API with your explicit consent. We only read data; we never write to your Whoop account.
- Google Health data (if you connect Google Health) — resting heart rate, heart rate variability, sleep, and Active Zone Minutes from your Google Health account, accessed via the Google Health API with your explicit consent. We only read data; we never write to your Google Health account.
How we use it
All data is used solely to provide the MoodMark service to you — displaying your history, sending reminders you've requested, and showing trends and correlations. We do not sell, share, or use your data for advertising.
Where it's stored
Data is stored in a Neon Postgres database. Authentication is handled by Clerk. Both services are based in the United States and comply with standard data protection practices.
Health device integrations
MoodMark optionally connects to third-party health platforms to show correlations between your biometric data and mood. All integrations are opt-in and use OAuth 2.0 read-only access — we never write to your health accounts.
Whoop: If you connect your Whoop account, you can revoke access at any time from MoodMark's Settings or directly from your Whoop account's connected apps page. Revoking access deletes any cached Whoop data from our database.
Google Health: If you connect Google Health, you can revoke access at any time from MoodMark's Settings or directly from your Google account's permissions page (myaccount.google.com → Security → Third-party apps). Revoking access deletes any cached Google Health data from our database.
In both cases, we store only a daily summary of the metrics listed above — no raw sensor data or continuous readings are retained.
Data retention and deletion
Your data is retained for as long as your account is active. To delete your account and all associated data, contact us at the address below. We will permanently delete your records within 30 days.
